This is so timely. Today, for the first time in longer than I can remember, I took a break. I did not write.I did not clean or email people back or work ahead on projects or create or do anything productive at all. I played video games for hours and hours, and I loved it. I have no guilt and no shame. I never thought of it as a rule, per se, but I have kept different standards for myself and others. Others should relax and do nothing and spend hours having fun. I must work and create and produce and provide. And please. That last one is important. But today, I shed that. I just tapped out for the day, and it was grand.
Was this an experiment? Or will my new life motto be something about living by the standards I give/expect of others? Could be either. I suppose I’ll see tomorrow.
Liberation--Great list! Made me think of those signs at the pool--maybe you could call these Pool Rules? :D The only rule that won't change is No running on a wet deck!
