Dear reader,
Last week I had my least successful online class launch of my career, both monetarily and in terms of number of people signed up for my class.
I want to share about why I think this happened, my exact number of sign ups and how much I earned, how I am pivoting, and how I am accepting this truth.
Career ebbs and flows are natural, we win some and we lose some. We make choices and put things into the world with so many factors in how a thing works and how a thing lands and how a thing wants to serve the people.
I trust god first and foremost. The group that I am teaching is more intimate, and therefore I can relax in a different way and also serve them with more attention. This is a key difference in some of my other classes where the number of students is much higher. I find that seeing them all in the one screen is a beautiful gift for my nervous system and the overall essence of the classroom. There are blessings within this failure to launch.1
I also will walk us through exactly how I launch a class, using two separate email lists, and how my list hosted on Substack didn’t work like it used to.
After really looking into my own expenses and income in the last few weeks I have gotten clearer on what my enough number is a month, what I need to survive, and what I need to thrive.
Let’s dig in to the metrics and my thoughts on why things were lower than usual. The income! The number of sign ups! Exactly how many emails I sent and why!
With any money and numbers transparency I ask that you bring your sovereign self with your own energetic boundaries. My numbers could be way higher than you think, way lower, and I trust you to have your own experience.
