I loved this so much — this part was so beautiful and resonant: “Ones that remove the merging and replace it with the side by side growing, two trees not in each other’s shade but down the row in the same forest. A shared root system with separate leaves reaching toward the same sun.”
“to wander towards the imperfections of another” !! so perfectly put! and as someone who hasn’t fallen in years because of a fear of how hard and fast they do fall, it is good to keep holding on to/in fact, to COMMIT to, the WANDERING! thanks so much for that frame. happiest of trails to you (i saw snail trails in my minds eye, crisscrossing shimmering mysterious silver paths) (and this image might now need to become a poem, so thank you too, for in inspiration. vicarious crush is a good starting place ❤️)
thank you for sharing with us, so beautifully, the vision of living outside of relational norms. they can feel so constrictive. I feel lighter for having read it these words.
as soon as i read the boy's hair clip line, i knew this was gonna be a banger. so many beautiful lines and sentiments, your words have a rhythm, sound like a dance.
"I don’t have to work for this. I just get to relish in its beauty. I just get to be in its swirl." loving these individual statements. Like, we get to just stand on the shore, in the field, under the stars, and let things be as they are. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!
Such a beautiful reminder of those early butterflies-in-the-tummy every time they’re near feeling ✨ 11 years and 2 kids deep over here I’m glad I still connect with my husband with this much giddiness because I had so many relationships before him that were “settling” at best. Your words are a good reminder of those early, early days. (I crushed hard on him before we kissed / got together so I had a few months of these feelings, so many good, hilarious memories of the DESIRE coming up for me as I read!!) Keep on crushing, Cody! 💛
“This is the luck of finding someone to mirror the delight of being myself” wowweeee, yes indeed
I came here only to say that line is the best description of a crush I have ever heard in my life haha

Thank you <3
Loved this too 🤍
this is one of my favorite pieces you've ever written about love and queerness and singleness and healing codependency. MWAH!!!
thank you for witnessing me for so long in this journey!

“This is the luck of finding someone to mirror the delight of being myself.” That there is some wisdom — beautifully and powerfully put.
Yes, yes, yes! I love this so much, Cody.
This may be the most beautiful thing you've ever written. And horniest. :)
